On the occasion of the 75th May Fourth Chinese Youth Day, at 3:00 pm on April 26th, the school organized a unique and colorful "Dream Painting May Fourth: Building a Youth Giant Painting" activity for its faculty and students at the Fountain Square in Yanshan Campus.
The most beautiful day in the world is April, with warm sunshine and fountains. In front of the school emblem under the national flag, students spread out a 20 meter scroll, turning words into deeds, using their brushes to depict their own "youthful universities and charming schools", making a solemn oath of "May Fourth spirit, I will inherit it", and practicing the contemporary declaration of "striving at the right time, youth bravely taking responsibility".
The atmosphere at the event was lively, and everyone was full of youthful enthusiasm. As a meaningful and grand painting unfolded, it was divided into seven themes, in line with the May Fourth spirit of "patriotism, progress, democracy, and science":On the solemn and majestic gate of Yanshan Campus, the six words "Shandong University of Finance and Economics" have been baptized by time but shine brightly, symbolizing the love of teachers and students for the school and their thirst for scientific knowledge; Peace doves flapping their wings and soaring gracefully adorn it, conveying their longing for world peace and the enthusiasm of young people to actively participate in the construction of a harmonious society; The students carefully depicted the words "May Fourth Spirit, I will inherit it", fully reflecting the determination of our students to remember history and inherit the red gene; The lively and eye-catching school emblem "CST" and the playful and cute mascot "Cai Xiaozhi" are spontaneously signed and pressed by students, showcasing the pride and sense of belonging of every CST student; The image of "striving at the right time and being brave and responsible in youth" is full of power, overlooking the charming Spring City, symbolizing the spirit of young people standing at the forefront, forging ahead with determination, and upholding responsibility; The lush green hues surround the school motto stone of "Enhancing Morality and Acquiring Knowledge through Inquiry", showcasing the students' adherence to the school motto and unwavering ideals and beliefs; Finally, the theme of "we are all dream chasers" gathers the whole volume, symbolizing that all participants are striving to pursue their own youthful dreams.
Yang Chunli, Secretary of the School Party Committee; Ren Nan, Director of Student Affairs; Li Chenlu, Secretary of the Youth League Committee; Meng Xiaohui, counselor; as well as teacher representatives and all students from our school participated in this event with enthusiasm. Everyone worked together, took up the brush, and outlined this vibrant and creative youth painting scroll with stroke by stroke. The spirit of May Fourth flowed at the tip of the brush and bloomed on the canvas.
The successful hosting of this event not only enriched campus cultural life and strengthened the cohesion of the Youth League organization but also provided a deep interpretation and practice of the spirit of May Fourth. It strongly encouraged all teachers and students from our Computer Science and Technology School to practically practice socialist core values with actions and be pioneers and dream chasers in this new era.
